TOP Rebel 12 Setup from MHIC 2015

Well, it has been quite a long time since my last update!  I could go on and on about why I haven’t posted a whole lot, but instead I think I should just try and get back into the swing of things.

The 2015 Mile High Indoor Championships were held here in Colorado at 5280 Raceway in mid-April.  Based upon attendance numbers and the folks who showed up, it looks like our little tiny club race has somehow transformed into the third largest carpet race in the US!  Pretty crazy.

I raced both mod sedan and mod 1/12 this year, and ended up finishing 3rd overall in mod 1/12!  I was really excited about this, as we had probably five or six guys total who were all pretty competitive, so it was nice to come out with a podium and not just finish mid-field.  It was also nice as it was a great validation of my decision to switch from VBC to TOP over the winter, as the VBC guys definitely had a tough time and were nowhere near as competitive as they should have been.  My car was really good for the entire weekend, and the only things I changed were just tire compounds and tire diameter.  As bite came up I kept using smaller and smaller tires so the car would stay level.  Otherwise, I made no changes to caster, camber, springs, etc, etc, etc.  It was a pretty low-key weekend for 1/12 changes, which is always a good indication that you did your homework going into the event!

I pitted next to Keven H for the entire race weekend, so it was also a great opportunity to learn an absolutely ridiculous amount about both 1/12 and sedan.  I even took advantage of the situation and had him drive my car, which has helped me with a couple other items that I am now going to shift my focus towards.  Overall, it was a great experience and I am really excited to keep moving forward with my 1/12 driving!
